Despite the extremely high water levels, Dam spilling, and strong winds 22 boats and 28 youth came out to try their luck in today’s tournament.  Blast off was delayed slightly so that boat captains could see floating debris that seemed to be all over the lake.

Battling through motor trouble Michelle and Fisher Holmes dominated the scales.  Their 5 fish limit totaled 17.55 pounds and was anchored by a 6.05 pound largemouth which put them securely in first place.

In second place was the newcomer team of Andy Morris and Harrison Taylor.  Their five fish limit topped the scales at 13.94 pounds.

Third place was taken by another new team to Kids First. Kevin and Chandler Roy’s five fish limit totaled 13.07 pounds.

Big fish was won by the team of Brian and Noah Miller.  Always a contender their 6.23 pound largemouth took the trophy.

The drawing for the Lowrance Hook 5 depth finder donated by Beech Lake Marine was held today.  The lucky winner was Steve Milam.

Today’s give away was courtesy of Thyssen Krupp.  They provided camouflage back packs for all the kids.  Door prizes were provided by Mercury, B&B Outdoors, Big Hill Pond Bass Boat Sales & Service, The Floral Connection, Beech Lake Marine, Billy Phillips Lures, and Mike Whitten.

Thank you to all the kids, adults, and sponsors that support Kids First!

Our next tournament is May 20, 2017 @ Pickwick Landing Dry Dock.
